pleated filters

Pleated filters, or Pleated air filters, have a large filtration surface and are now the most commonly used filter type.

Komtfil: Your Reliable pleated filter manufacturer

Komtfil can be your first choice if you are looking for pleated air filters in China. To be a leading pleated air filter manufacturer, we can make all types of pleated panel filters with different filter media, frames, filtration levels, and sizes. Our pleated filter HVAC has an even pleat and high density, which means it has more room to hold the dust but with low initial resistance. This will help you reduce energy and operational costs.
The extended surface of Komtfil pleated AC filters can remove dust, airborne particles, and nebulizer drops from intake and recirculation air. It has a high capacity and lasts long, and it can work stably in HVAC systems to protect the blower and coil to reduce maintenance.
Komtfil pleated furnace filters are perfectly fit and perform to the filter track or duct in your system. It has a good seal with a die-cut frame that ensures no air bypass to improve the indoor air quality.
We offer custom and OEM service when you have some unique requirements. Like nonstandard pleats or disposable. We can make you a sample before the bulk orders.

Materials and Manufacturing: Komtfil pleated filters features

Our company makes a wide range of pleated filters of excellent quality. We use mechanical filter media, like synthetic materials and fiberglass, to remove dust and particles. We use carbon filter material to eliminate gases. We offer various frame options, and you can choose a beverage board, aluminum, or Galvanized frame. To provide strong support for the filter media, we put metal wire on the back of the filter media so it won’t collapse. Our filters also use a metal grid as the protective layer.
We can make both standard and deluxe plates, with the pleat depth 1″, 2″, 4″, and 6″, and filter size like 20″ x 20″, 24″ x 20″, 24″ x 12″,24″ x 24″, and even 24″ x 32″ or any other custom dimensions. Even pleats and a strong structure make our pleated filter idea choice as your replacement filter.

Wide Applications of komtfil pleated filters

Pleated filters are now the most used in our lives. You can use them at home, office, commercial, and residential settings. In industry, they are used in pharmaceutical, agriculture, food and beverage, firing ranges, and healthcare. They can be pre-filters to protect high-efficiency filters or be final filters in some ventilation systems.

The Pleated Advantage: Superior Airflow & Capture

We understand that in filtration, surface area is everything. Unlike flat fiberglass options that clog quickly, our pleated design packs significantly more material into the same footprint. This extended surface area allows for a higher volume of air to pass through while trapping more particles. It creates the perfect balance: a low-pressure drop filter that protects your equipment without forcing the blower motor to work overtime. By distributing the dust load across more square footage, we ensure the system runs efficiently for longer periods.

Advanced Synthetic Electret Media

We utilize synthetic electret media to take capture efficiency to the next level. This material isn’t just a physical barrier; it carries an electrostatic charge that acts like a magnet for airborne contaminants.

  • Capture: Attracts and holds microscopic particles like pet dander and fine dust.
  • High Efficiency: Delivers superior filtration without restricting airflow.
  • Durability: Resists moisture and bacterial growth better than organic fibers.

This technology allows us to offer mechanical filtration media that capture smaller pollutants than standard filters, significantly improving Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) without requiring a system retrofit.

Heavy-Duty Frame Construction

A high-performance filter needs a rigid skeleton. We engineer our filters with a moisture-resistant frame designed to withstand the humidity often found in basements, attics, and industrial intake zones. Whether using high-strength beverage board or industrial-grade casing, the frame is built to prevent warping, buckling, or air bypass. This ensures that 100% of the air goes through the filter, not around it.

Wire-Backed Media Support

To maintain structural integrity under high airflow, we incorporate wire-backed media support. An expanded metal grid is bonded directly to the air-leaving side of the media.

  • Prevents Collapse: Stops the filter from being sucked into the air handler.
  • Maintains Pleat Spacing: Ensures even dust loading across the entire filter face.
  • Vibration Reduction: Eliminates the noise and flutter common in cheaper filters.

This reinforcement is critical for multi-pleat panel filters, ensuring they retain their shape and high-capacity dust-holding capabilities throughout their entire service life.

FAQ's

Most Popular Questions

A common concern is whether upgrading to MERV 13 replacement filters will restrict airflow enough to damage an HVAC furnace or air handler. While higher MERV ratings do capture smaller airborne contaminants, they can create more resistance. However, our pleated filters utilize advanced synthetic electret media designed to maintain a low pressure drop while providing high capacity dust holding.

For most modern residential systems, using a MERV 8 to MERV 11 filter is perfectly safe. If you plan to use a MERV 13 for superior Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) solutions, ensure your system is rated for the slight increase in static pressure to prevent strain on the blower motor.

Getting the right fit is critical for effective airborne contaminant removal. In the US market, filters have two sizes:

  • Nominal Size: The rounded number printed on the frame (e.g., 20x25x1).
  • Actual Size: The precise physical dimensions, usually 0.25 to 0.5 inches smaller.

If you try to force a filter based strictly on nominal measurements, it may buckle or not fit at all. We recommend measuring your current filter or the intake opening to ensure the replacement filters seal correctly.

Measurement TypeDescriptionExample
Nominal SizeLabel size used for shopping (rounded up).20″ x 25″ x 1″
Actual SizeExact manufacturing dimensions.19.5″ x 24.5″ x 0.75″

We generally recommend disposable pleated filters over washable electrostatic versions for maintaining consistent air quality. Washable filters often have lower efficiency ratings and can retain moisture, leading to potential mold issues if not dried perfectly.

Our disposable options feature extended surface area and mechanical filtration media that trap microscopic particles effectively. Once the filter lifespan ends, simply replacing the unit ensures your system runs at peak efficiency without the hassle of cleaning or the risk of reintroducing contaminants.
